Laurens is an experienced specialist in (international) corporate law, with a strong focus on M&A transactions, corporate restructuring and governance. He advises a broad range of clients—from private equity firms and multinationals to non‑profit organisations and pension funds. He also leverages his expertise as both a legal specialist and entrepreneur in his role as trusted advisor to a select group of entrepreneurs.
Before joining N/P, Laurens worked in the Corporate practice of a leading law firm. In 2014, he established N/P’s Amsterdam office, where he was appointed civil‑law notary in 2016.
Laurens plays an active role in the development of corporate law. He serves as chair of the VON, an association of notarial corporate law specialists and is a member of the ‘Gecombineerde Commissie Vennootschapsrecht’, contributing to legislative advice and policy development. He also publishes regularly in academic journals, lectures on a wide range of topics within notarial corporate law, and is completing a PhD on the subject of profit‑sharing certificates (Winstbewijzen).
Laurens is known for his creativity, quick thinking and ability to distil complex matters to their essence. He combines academic depth with pragmatism and a keen awareness of the organisational and political dynamics within companies. His style is clear, accessible and – where appropriate – lightened with a touch of humour.
